No two summers look the same. Some students will be enrolled in classes, others will be participating in CPT or Academic Training, traveling home, or preparing to graduate. Whatever your plans, ISS remains available throughout the summer to support you and answer your questions.
Connecting with ISS
International Student Services is located in 459 Schmitz Hall and is operates Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Whether you have a quick question, need immigration advising, or want to learn more about ISS services, there are several ways to connect with us throughout the summer.
Front Desk & Phone Hours
Our physical office will be open throughout the summer during the hours listed below. Front desk staff can assist with general questions, document pickup, and connecting you with the appropriate ISS services.

Need assistance outside of front desk hours? You can contact ISS by email at any time. Due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, please allow 3–5 business days for a response.
Live Chat
Live chat is available through the ISS website during business hours and is often the quickest way to get answers to general questions. If your question requires an advisor’s review or access to your student record, we may ask you to submit a request through MyISSS or contact us by email.
Advising Services
Virtual and in-person advising hours vary throughout the summer. Please check the ISS website for the most current advising schedule and availability.

Holiday Closures and Remote Operations
ISS follows the University of Washington holiday calendar and may close for university-wide holidays and observances throughout the year. Please plan ahead if you need documents, advising, or other immigration-related support.
Remote Operations: August 24 – September 4
ISS will operate remotely from August 24 through September 4. During this period:
- Staff will continue to provide services remotely.
- Email and virtual support will remain available.
- In-person services will be temporarily unavailable.
We will return to our normal in-person operations on September 7.
