How are Estimated Expenses Calculated?

General Notes

  1. Tuition amounts used above are based on the 2025-2026 quarterly tuition & fee rates per the UW Office of Planning & Budgeting Tuition & Fees Dashboards.
  2. Living expenses are calculated from the 2025-2026 Student Budget Nine-Month Expenses. (Textbooks and course supplies, rent, utilities and food, personal and miscellaneous, and transportation). Living expenses for all undergraduate students are calculated using the “Living on/off campus” rate.

To receive an I-20 or DS-2019, you must provided proof of funding for a period of 1 academic year. Funds must be liquid. Documentation must be in English or include an official translation as well as no older than 12 months.
