We are excited to announce that based on feedback from students and campus partners, we are making changes to our advising availability! Starting Monday, August 22, the ISS will offer F-1 and J-1 drop-in advising for students. Drop-in advising is intended for simple, quick questions about your immigration status. Students will have time-sensitive questions or those who have questions beyond what they can find on the website are encouraged to meet with an advisor during the drop-in advising hours.
In-person drop-in advising will be available August 22 – September 2 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. Between September 12 – 23, there will not be any drop-in advising these two weeks as the ISS advising team works with the incoming, new students arriving for autumn quarter. Then from September 28, we will continue to offer in-person drop-in advising from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, Monday – Thursday, and will also add virtual drop-in advising from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Monday – Friday.
Group advising sessions on CPT, OPT, and STEM OPT will be available starting Sept 30. We encourage all students who have basic questions on these topics to join a group advising session before attending a drop-in advising session.
