We want to alert our international student community about a concerning new scam targeting students at the University of Washington. Scammers are sending fraudulent emails designed to intimidate students into responding with sensitive information.

Details of the Scam
- Sender Name: The scam emails claim to be from Sarah Phillp, a person who is not affiliated with UW.
- Fake Department: The emails reference the UW Academic Integrity Department, which does not exist.
- False Allegations: The email accuses the recipient of academic violations and suggests that these alleged violations could jeopardize their student visa status.
- ISS Header: The email uses the ISS newsletter header.

What to Do if You Receive This Email
- Do not respond to the email or engage with the sender.
- Do not share any personal or sensitive information.
- Report the email immediately by contacting the University of Washington Police Department’s non-emergency number at 206-685-8973.
