The U.S. government is expected to announce final changes to the Duration of Status (D/S) regulations soon. While these changes could significantly affect F-1 and J-1 international students, no changes have taken effect at this time. Current immigration rules and processes remain the same for now.

Once final regulations are announced, our team will need time to review the changes and understand their impacts before providing updated guidance to students. We encourage you to watch for future ISS communications and keep an eye on our Government Updates page.

OPT Update: Biometric Appointments
|
There has been a recent increase in biometric appointment requests from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for OPT applicants. If you receive a notice, be sure to attend your scheduled appointment promptly so your application is not delayed.

Apply to Extend Your I-20/DS-2019
|
Please take some time to check your I-20/DS-2019 Program End Date. If it's expiring within the next several quarters but you anticipate needing more time to complete your studies, submit an I-20 or DS-2019 Extension request in MyISSS as soon as possible.
