Congratulations on your admission to the University of Washington. As you prepare for your arrival, we want to introduce International Student Services (ISS), the office that supports international students with immigration-related processes throughout their time at UW.
|
ISS is different from the UW admissions offices or your academic department. Those offices help with admission decisions, transcript review, initial immigration document issuance, enrollment, academic planning, and course registration. ISS works specifically with immigration matters after your arrival including your Immigration Check-in, quarterly SEVIS reporting, employment authorization, and enrollment exception authorization among many other topics. Prior to your arrival, continue to consult admissions on immigration document requests and related questions.

Requesting your I-20/DS-2019
|
Before applying for your visa, you need an immigration document from UW. F-1 students receive Form I-20, and J-1 students receive Form DS-2019. These documents confirm your eligibility for your student visa and are required to schedule a visa appointment and entry to the U.S. If you have not already submitted the Create I-20 or DS-2019 request, admissions will send you instructions on how to request your document, including giving you access to the MyISSS immigration portal.

MyISSS is your immigration portal at the UW. You will use MyISSS throughout your time as a student at the UW to request your I-20 or DS-2019, submit documents, and later access immigration services after arriving at UW. After paying your enrollment confirmation deposit, you should receive access to MyISSS within 1 business week. If you have trouble accessing the system, please reach out to admissions.
