If you weren’t able to attend our recent tax workshop, you can watch the recording on our Filing Taxes webpage. As a reminder, the deadline to file taxes is April 15 for those who earned income in the U.S. during 2025. If you did not earn any income, you will likely still need to file Form 8843, which has a deadline of June 15. We encourage you to review the resources on our website to understand your requirements.

Speaking of workshops, we’re hosting a CPT Information Session on March 13. If you’re thinking about doing a spring or summer internship, this session will walk you through the application process and help you understand how to request work authorization. We also encourage you to check out our recent blog post on the grey areas of employment for F-1 students to better understand activities that may or may not require authorization.

Lastly, if you plan to travel during Spring Break, be sure to check that your I-20 or DS-2019 has a valid travel signature, and review our guidance on traveling within the U.S. and internationally so you’re prepared for your trip.

If you're graduating in June (spring quarter), you can now request your OPT I-20 in MyISSS. Remember: you must receive an OPT I-20 from ISS before submitting your application to USCIS.

Alert! Tuition Payment Scam
|
We want to alert you to a recurring credit card scam targeting tuition payments. Scammers approach students offering to handle tuition payments with promises of waived transaction fees, better exchange rates, or rebates. They request the student's UW NetID and password to access the tuition account and make credit card payments in installments. Read more...
