As of this morning, we have learned of five current UW students and four recent alumni across the three UW campuses who have had their F-1 visa and SEVIS record cancelled by the federal government without prior notice to the University or the students. The University and ISS are deeply concerned about the well-being of these students and alumni and are working to support them. We know this news is upsetting and causes concern. I want to assure you that our priority is supporting F-1 and J-1 students.

Please read through my latest update on the situation to learn more information including what steps you should take to ensure you are maintaining your immigration status.
