Glacier Tax Prep Now Live

Dear reader,

Most F and J international students must file taxes at the beginning of each year, even if they did not earn income in the previous year. To help with this process, students can access Glacier Tax Prep (GTP) free of charge. Provided by ISS, this software helps determine tax residency status and guides users through the tax filing process. You can access GTP through the ISS website.

ISS recommends reviewing our Filing Taxes webpage for a comprehensive overview of tax preparation and the filing process. Several campus resources are available to assist with tax-related questions, including a Tax Workshop hosted by the UW Federal Tax Clinic. Additionally, Glacier Tax Prep offers live Q&A sessions, which can be accessed through your GTP account.

Please note: ISS advisors cannot provide tax advice. If you need assistance, we encourage you to explore the resources listed on our website.

UW Tax Resources

UW Tax Assistance

Most people rank filing tax returns just above getting dental surgery, but there is one heroic group, our very own Master of Science in Taxation students, who thrive on doing taxes, and they are offering their services for free on the UW campus through UW VITA.

Federal Tax Clinic

University of Washington (UW) Federal Tax Clinic comprises over 20 volunteer student attorneys, 15 volunteer attorneys, and three experienced directors and professors who offer free representation for ongoing tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
