ISS & ISHIP Hours this week

We want to hear from you! Complete our survey!

The International Leadership Team at ISS wants to hear from you! Please fill out our survey! Your feedback may impact our advising schedule and services for winter and spring quarters in 2023. The survey is open now through December 16, 2022.
Thank you, in advance, for helping us assess how we are serving you!

Do you need a travel signature? Check MyISSS.

We hope that by now you understand the importance of a travel signature. The travel signature on page two of your I-20 confirms that you are in status. Customs and Border Protection will check for a valid signature as you travel and re-enter the United States.

Students who started their programs in autumn 2022 were issued travel signatures after they completed their check-in process. Please check your MyISSS profile to see if you have an I-20 with a valid travel signature. If you don't have one, feel free to visit us for one of our travel signature clinics in the next few weeks.
  • Thursday, December 1st from 9 AM to 12 PM in Schmitz 490
  • Thursday, December 8th from 1 PM to 4 PM in Schmitz 490

Graduating soon? Plan ahead!!!

Students who are graduating soon should check out our Final Quarter Checklist and Planning Tool. It has great information that you should review as you plan for your next steps.
Thanks for planning ahead so you don't miss out on any great opportunities.

REMINDERS

OPT Group Advising 12/2

Join us for our group advising and information session this Friday, 12/2 at 3 PM. During this 1-hour session, Ivonne and Leana will share everything you need to know about OPT!
Check out more on our Events Page.

Secure your documents!

Your passport, social security card, and I-20 are important documents. Please keep these safe. Requesting replacement documents can be very time consuming and can take the focus away from your studies at very inconvenient times.

Zoolights and Snowflake Lane

To many, Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday season and celebrations. When we asked the ISS staff about their favorite activities to do in or around Seattle in December, Kareen and Leana both talked about zoolights. Here in Seattle, the Woodland Park Zoo hosts Wildlanterns, a bright celebration not too far from UW's campus. Down south in Tacoma, the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium hosts Zoolights. Grab your coat and buy a ticket when you head to this festive winter celebration.
If you're willing to travel east of Seattle a little ways, Jo Anne Marie and Kareen suggest visiting Snowflake Lane in Bellevue, where you are sure to experience the magic of the holiday season.
