Plan Ahead – Processing delays May 15-31

Delayed Processing:  May 15 – 31, 2019

Limited Advising: May 28 – 31, 2019

The ISS will have delayed processing and limited advising from May 15 – 31. Several ISS advisors will be attending an annual conference on immigration policy and international student advising which means we will have fewer advisors available to assist students. Requests or forms submitted between May 15 – 31 may take up to 15 business days for processing instead of our standard 10 business days.

We encourage you to plan ahead and submit requests before May 15 to avoid any delays.

Keep in mind:

  • ISS reception desk will remain open for document pick-up and drop off
  • Processing of requests between May 15-31 may take up to 15 business days
  • Replies to questions submitted online may take more than 2 business days
  • Summer quarter graduates planning to apply for OPT should review our OPT application timeline
  • Spring quarter graduates planning to apply for OPT should submit an OPT application as soon as possible to avoid delays
  • STEM OPT I-20 requests with an OPT end date before June 14 should submit a request as soon as possible
  • ISS cannot accommodate expedited processing requests – please plan ahead!
  • ISS advisors will not be available for appointments May 28 – 31
  • Withdrawal requests, emergency travel signatures, and other time sensitive requests will be reviewed and prioritized by ISS staff

Spring quarter will go fast and we encourage you to plan ahead. Pay close attention to upcoming deadlines and don’t wait until the end of the quarter to reach out to ISS or submit your requests.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
