ISS &ISHIP Hours this week

Happy Labor Day!

Today is a federal holiday that celebrates the social and economic achievements of American workers! Because of that holiday, UW and the ISS office are closed. We hope you have a relaxing day as you get ready for fall quarter!

Stay Safe. Beware of SCAMS.

This past year, we've heard of many students falling victim to scams. Remember that the U.S. government, foreign governments, social security, and other government organizations will not contact you to ask you for money. YOU are in control of your immigration status. If you receive a scam call or message, do not engage with the scammer and contact ISS to confirm that your immigration status is OK.

IF A SCAMMER CONTACTS ME, WHAT STEPS CAN I TAKE?
  • HANG UP; stop talking with the person asking you for money
  • DO NOT SEND MONEY or gift card information to strangers
  • DO NOT give them private data like your passport number, account info, parent's info, etc.
  • TELL someone you trust
  • REPORT the scam to the UW Police
  • ALERT your Consulate or Embassy and your family
