DROPPING A SUMMER QUARTER CLASS

International students wanting to drop a summer quarter course at this stage in the quarter must complete the online Advisor Assisted Drop form. Once this form is submitted to the Registrar's Office, the ISS will receive an email. Once an ISS advisor reviews and processes the request, we will notify the Registrar's Office whether you are eligible to drop the course. Go to the Current Quarter Drop page and submit the Advisor Assisted Drop request online if you want to drop a summer quarter class.

3 WEEKS LEFT FOR SUMMER QUARTER! START PLANNING FOR WHAT'S NEXT!

Only 3 weeks until the end of summer quarter. If you will be graduating summer quarter, your I-20 program end date will be 8/19/2022. Be sure to review the final year checklist that includes reminders for ALL graduating students about the following topics:

RECORD HEAT IN SEATTLE

Seattle has been experiencing excessive heat for more than one week. Temperatures are supposed to begin cooling off this week. Continue to stay safe, drink lots of water, and be alert to signs of heat exhaustion. Review tips for ways to stay cool and if you do not have access to air conditioning, or are uncomfortable at home, there are free cooling centers throughout King County where you can rest.

REMINDERS

Be Aware of SCAMS

The ISS continues to hear from students who have been targeted by scams. The U.S. government, foreign governments, and other organizations related to your immigration status will NEVER demand money or information and WILL NOT ask for private, secure information over the phone or email. This is a SCAM.

WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE?
  • HANG UP; stop talking with the person asking you for money
  • DO NOT SEND MONEY or gift card information to strangers
  • DO NOT give them private data like your passport number, account info, parent's info, etc.
  • TELL someone you trust
  • REPORT it to the UW Police
  • ALERT your Consulate or Embassy and your family

SIGN UP FOR UW ALERT

The University of Washington has developed UW Alert to disseminate information via email, text messages, loudspeakers, website banners and other means, as needed, to keep the campus community informed during emergencies and situations that might disrupt normal operations.

We strongly encourage all students to sign up for UW Alert today!

Don't forget to submit your 6 month validation report on time! The request form is available in the Requests & Documents section of your MyISSS account and is very simple! Students needing to submit the 12 and 24 month reports will also need to submit their I-983.

Scholarship Opportunities
