NEW THIS WEEK:

COMING SOON!

Later this quarter, ISS will be launching a new web-based tool for students to engage with our office. Over the coming weeks, we will share more information about this new tool so that you are prepared when it launches. The new platform will provide students with access to more information about their immigration records and serve as a streamlined way to communicate with ISS staff and make requests. We're excited to share more with you soon!

Plan Ahead

The transition to the new software will take us some time and attention. We encourage you to plan ahead now and submit any requests that you may need from our office. When we launch the new software, there may be delays as we replace our old workflows with new ones.

There will be no advising appointments available February 7 through 18 to support training and development for advising staff. Advisors will be responding to emails and processing requests during this time, but unable to schedule 1x1 appointments. Seek information on our website or email us at uwiss@uw.edu for support.

We will share an update with a more detailed timeline in the near future.

New social program for international undergraduate students!

Responding to the continued needs for community and support, UW CIRCLE is very excited to launch CIRCLE of Friends (CoF), a space where international undergraduate students can hang out, make friends, get support, and much more!

  • Starting in January 2022, you can drop in the CoF Zoom room every Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays any time between 5:30-8:30pm, to study, to connect, or to engage. We can play board games, do quiet study, or listen to music, so we don't have to be alone or feel isolated.
  • In February 2022, CoF will move to HUB 141 to continue supporting you and your friends in person.
  • Through CoF, you can also make 1:1 appointments with peer advisors and CIRCLE staff throughout the week. This is meant to be a safe space where you can chat about your unique situations and get help. Feel free to book your appointments here.
