In-Person Instruction to Resume Next Week (January 10)

UW President Cauce announced on December 21 that most classes will meet online during the first week of winter quarter, January 3 – January 7, with in-person instruction planned to begin January 10.

President Cauce confirmed in an email today, January 3, 2022, that in-person instruction will resume on Monday January 10.

Here are some additional reminders for keeping our campus community safe as we return from break:
  • Wear well-fitting masks.
  • Get your booster shot when you become eligible.
  • Get tested if exposed to someone who tests positive, or if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Avoid high-risk situations, like large, unmasked gatherings.

HAPPENING NOW:

If you will be traveling internationally to return to Seattle for winter quarter, make sure to check your most recent I-20 or DS-2019 for a valid travel signature! Travel signatures are valid for 1 year for enrolled students - if you need an update, request one online today!

New to campus?
If you haven't already, be sure to sign up for a session of Embark. During Embark you will connect with other new and returning students, prepare for your cultural transition to the UW and U.S., and learn more about maintaining your visa status while a student at UW. Embark sessions are offered as part of your international welcome programming in the quarter you are entering UW. Contact info@fiuts.org or orientation@fiuts.org with questions.

In addition to attending Embark, new students are also required to complete the ISS online immigration check-in.
