Address Update Requirement

Federal regulations require you to notify Immigration of your address in the United States within ten days of any change. You must have both a local and permanent address on file with the UW. "Local adress" refers to your address in the U.S. "Permanent address" refers to an address outside the U.S. The update procedures vary depending on your situation.

F-1 students: Update your local address on your MyUW page. Immigration will automatically be notified. If you are on OPT, email your ISS adviser with your local address information. To update your permanent address, always email your ISS adviser.

J-1 students: Email your ISS adviser to update your local or permanent address changes. If your DS-2019 was issued by an organization other than UW, contact your program sponsor to update your address.
