Welcome to the International Student Services (ISS) website, an evolving effort to provide information about U. S. immigration regulations in a way that is understandable and meaningful to nearly 3,000 international undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Washington Seattle.

The ISS advising staff are professionally trained individuals who understand the needs of this diverse population and provide knowledgeable and empathetic advice on their rights and responsibilities as international students. We can help students and staff to understand the interaction of federal regulations and University policies and to help resolve conflicts which may occur, minimizing the potential risks to both students and the University. We take our responsibilities seriously to ensure the University’s compliance with immigration laws. Although we can exercise discretion in the interpretation of immigration regulations, we do not bend or ignore the law, rather, we strive to provide consistent and unbiased support to all international students.
