Required Check-in at ISS

All Exchange Visitors new to the University of Washington (including transfers from another school in the U.S.) must visit the Office International Students and Scholars (ISS) in 459 Schmitz Hall on Tuesday at 3:00 so that their arrival on campus can be reported to the Department of Homeland Security as required by federal law. Exchange Visitors should arrive 10-15 minutes early so the one-hour check-in session can begin promptly at 3:00. Exchange Visitors should bring to the check-in their passport, DS-2019 form, Insurance Compliance Statement, and local Seattle-area residence address. The Tuesday check-in session must occur not later than 30 days after the program start date indicated in item 3 of the DS-2019 form. Failure to check-in with ISS causes automatic revocation of the Exchange Visitor’s lawful status.
